Spend Time With The Lord

“Spend Time With The Lord” All of us are not above this we should have a time and place each and every day that we spend with our Saviour. There’s many ways that we are able to do this, but here are two: 1. “In the reading of his word” Notice in Psalms 119:9-11 It reads,“Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word. With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments. Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” When we stray from the word you better believe sin is knocking at the door. None of us are above sin, and without the word we will “sin against thee.” 🥺 This is heartbreaking. I know when I fall into sin it bothers me deeply, and grieves the Spirit (Eph. 4:30), and one of the causes is by not being in the word or “taking a break” where I think it’s ok to not read right now. That’s not good, and if not careful me or you can fall into sin ( bad thoughts or whatever it may be). We need to stay in the word. A lack of the word will result in bad habits creeping back into our lives because we don’t have anything to stand on and “hide in our heart.” 2. “Prayer” Finding that special place to come to the Lord in prayer is a great way to spend time with him. Notice right here in Matthew 6:6 It says, “But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.” Finding a good quiet place where you can get alone and just talk to the Lord helps wonders, and it helps with our fellowship and our walk with him. Whenever we have a bad or stressful day at work or going about our day, there’s nothing like getting in that quiet place and laying it all out before him (1 Pet. 5:7). He wants to hear from us and talk to us that helps with our fellowship. A father that talks daily with his son tends to have a better relationship than a disobedient son who doesn’t talk to his father.
